Troubleshooting
I can’t sign in
Section titled “I can’t sign in”- Your address hasn’t been invited. During the beta, only invited addresses can make an account. Sign in with the address you were invited with, or continue as a guest and keep your maps in the browser for now.
- You signed in with another address. An invite is for one email address, so choose the Google or GitHub account that uses it.
I can’t see a team’s maps
Section titled “I can’t see a team’s maps”Maps in a team show only while that team is chosen in the workspace switcher at the top left. If the team isn’t listed, your invite may still be waiting: sign in with the address it was sent to. An invite runs out after 30 days, so ask an owner or admin to invite you again. See teams.
A file won’t import
Section titled “A file won’t import”Flozu says why. The usual reasons:
- It isn’t from Flozu. Flozu imports the maps, bundles and versions it exports. See import and export.
- It was made by a newer version of Flozu. Update Flozu, then import it again.
- It’s been edited by hand and breaks a rule, such as a line to a part that doesn’t exist. The message names what’s wrong.
- Part of a bundle came in. Whatever in a bundle can’t be read is left out and named, and the rest still comes in.
- Its folders are too deep. A bundle that would nest folders more than six deep is refused. Export a folder further down instead.
A part’s badge says “Map not here”
Section titled “A part’s badge says “Map not here””The map it opens into isn’t saved here. It may have been deleted, or not come with the file or link. Export the map with its history to take the maps inside its parts along, or give the part a new one from its Map inside section. See maps inside parts.
A share link doesn’t open
Section titled “A share link doesn’t open”- It was cut short. Some apps trim long links. Flozu goes to home and says the link is incomplete. Ask for it again, or for the exported file.
- It’s too big. Flozu refuses a link that would unpack to more than 5 MB. Share the file instead.
- It was made from Flozu’s source. A link made while Flozu runs on someone’s own computer,
at a
localhostaddress, only opens there. Ask them for a link from my.flozu.app. See share a link.
Traffic isn’t moving
Section titled “Traffic isn’t moving”- The map is paused. Press play on the island at the foot of the canvas.
- The lines have no rate. Give a line a rate in its Traffic tab.
- Your computer asks for reduced motion. Flozu then opens maps paused, and moves only when you press play.
A key does nothing
Section titled “A key does nothing”- You’re typing in a field. Shortcuts don’t fire there. Press Esc or click the canvas first.
- The map is presented. Keys that edit do nothing while presenting. Choose Edit in the mode menu on the island.
- The pointer isn’t over the canvas. A part’s key adds it under the pointer, or in the middle of the screen when the pointer is elsewhere.
My maps are gone
Section titled “My maps are gone”- You’re signed in, and the maps were made as a guest. Signed in, Flozu shows your account’s maps only. The maps you made in the browser are still there: home offers to move them in, and they show again if you sign out.
- Another workspace is chosen. Each map is kept in one workspace. Choose another in the switcher at the top left.
- Another browser or a private window. Maps are kept per browser. Open Flozu in the browser you made them in.
- Site data was cleared. Clearing a browser’s site data deletes its maps. Import a copy you exported, if you have one.
- On a Mac, maps are files in Documents › Flozu. Check the Trash for anything deleted.
The Mac app says it can’t be checked
Section titled “The Mac app says it can’t be checked”A build that isn’t signed yet opens with a warning the first time. Right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again.
