Questions and answers
Is Flozu free?
Section titled “Is Flozu free?”Yes, during the beta. It isn’t sold yet.
Do I need an account?
Section titled “Do I need an account?”No. On the web you can continue as a guest, and your maps stay in your browser. The Mac app keeps them as files and never asks you to sign in. An account keeps your maps online, so they open on any computer, and lets you share them with a team. During the beta, signing in is for invited addresses. See where maps live.
Does Flozu connect to my systems?
Section titled “Does Flozu connect to my systems?”No. Flozu never calls, deploys, monitors or runs anything. The motion and the scenarios come from the numbers you put on the map. That’s what lets it work offline and in front of a client.
Is my map sent anywhere when I share a link?
Section titled “Is my map sent anywhere when I share a link?”No. A share link carries the map inside it, after the #, and browsers never send that part of
an address to a server. Whoever you send it to can read the map, so only share what its audience
should see. Sharing from a view leaves out what that view hides.
How accurate are scenarios?
Section titled “How accurate are scenarios?”They’re as good as the numbers on the map, and the model is simple on purpose. It’s good at finding which part runs out of room first and roughly how much more it needs. It times every request out at 30 seconds, and it doesn’t know about retries, cold caches or slow queries. See what it can’t tell you.
Can Flozu show what happens when something breaks?
Section titled “Can Flozu show what happens when something breaks?”Yes. A failure drill takes a part, a line or a whole zone down in a scenario, and shows what fails, what takes over and what to change. Find weak spots tries each part and zone in turn. Flozu works it out from the map; it never touches your real systems.
Why is a part marked “Not checked”?
Section titled “Why is a part marked “Not checked”?”It has no capacity set, so there’s nothing to compare its load against. Set its capacity in its Traffic tab.
Why doesn’t the scheduler get busier on Black Friday?
Section titled “Why doesn’t the scheduler get busier on Black Friday?”A scheduler starts traffic by the clock, not because people arrive, so a scenario’s busier day doesn’t scale it. To make it busier, raise the rates of the lines it sends.
Can I use my own icons or shapes?
Section titled “Can I use my own icons or shapes?”A part’s mark is its technology’s logo, when Flozu knows it, or the kind’s icon. You can pick any of the library’s drawings for any part, and give anything your own colours. Plain drawing shapes aren’t part of Flozu: a map holds parts, zones and notes, so it always means something.
Why don’t I see AWS or OpenAI logos?
Section titled “Why don’t I see AWS or OpenAI logos?”Those brands don’t allow their logos in Simple Icons, where Flozu’s logos come from, so those parts keep the kind’s icon.
Can several people work on one map?
Section titled “Can several people work on one map?”Yes, in a team. Everyone in it opens the team’s maps, and each person’s role says whether they can edit them, suggest changes as proposals, or only look. Two people can’t edit the same map at the same moment yet: if both save, the second save is kept as a proposal, so nobody’s work is lost. Without an account, share a link for people to look, or export the map with its history for someone to change, then compare versions.
Can I use Flozu offline?
Section titled “Can I use Flozu offline?”Yes, with maps kept in the browser or on your Mac. Once Flozu has loaded, everything works without a connection, and the Mac app never needs one. Maps in an account need a connection to save.
Does Flozu work on a phone?
Section titled “Does Flozu work on a phone?”You can look at, present and share maps on a phone, and the sidebar slides over the page. Building a map is easier with a mouse or trackpad and a bigger screen.
How do I get a map from one computer to another?
Section titled “How do I get a map from one computer to another?”Keep it in your account, and it opens wherever you sign in. Without one, export it from its menu on the Maps page, and import the file on the other computer. To move everything, select Export… in the ⋯ menu on the Maps page: one file holds every map, in its projects and folders. In the Mac app, maps are files, so anything that syncs your Documents folder moves them too. See import and export.
Can I put a map in a slide deck?
Section titled “Can I put a map in a slide deck?”Yes. In the editor, select Export and choose a PNG image, an SVG drawing or a PDF of the whole map, dark or light, with a see-through background if you like.
Can one part show what’s inside it?
Section titled “Can one part show what’s inside it?”Yes. Give it a map inside: its own map of modules, endpoints and what they call, which you open from the card and leave by the trail above it.
Where do I report a problem or ask for something?
Section titled “Where do I report a problem or ask for something?”Choose Help, then Send feedback…, or email support@flozu.app. See getting help.
