The Mac app

The Mac app is Flozu in a native window, with no server and no sign-in. It runs the same app as the browser, in the Mac’s own web view (the one Safari uses), so it’s small and works the same. What it adds:

  • Maps are files. Each map is a .flozu.json file in Documents › Flozu, and projects and folders are real folders there. See files and folders.
  • A menu bar, with the shortcuts below.
  • A window that reopens where you left it, at the size you left it.

The Mac app is built from the same code as the web app. To build and run it yourself, you need what Flozu needs, plus Rust and Xcode’s command line tools:

Terminal window
xcode-select --install
curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://sh.rustup.rs | sh
pnpm install
pnpm desktop # opens the app

The first run compiles the app, which takes a few minutes. Later runs take seconds. docs/mac-app.md in the repo covers packaging, signing and releasing.
